One of the worst and most common habits of people living in London, is forgetting they live in London. Or at least forgetting to make the most of living in one of the world’s most exciting and beautiful cities. This Sunday my flatmate and I decided we needed to break the habit and enjoy walking the streets of London and taking in a little more of what it has to offer. Unfortunately, in true British style, it decided to rain. And I mean REALLY rain so we took refuge in Ffiona’s, a restaurant on Kensington Church Street in Kensington that serves the best brunch in London.
After reading a review on The Luxury Columnist and discovering the Ffiona’s is so close to where I live it shot to the top of my hit list for brunch destinations. It is the cosiest, most friendly restaurants I have ever been to. There’s so much choice on the menu, the special being sweet potato, chorizo and red chilli hash with roasted onions and tomatoes. I however had my heart set on the buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. They were so delicious, and generously sized. Deliciously soft and fluffy on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside, the bacon was lovely and thick and also cooked to perfection, accompanied with a generous jug of maple syrup to pour to your heart’s content.
There’s a lot to choose from, so whatever you’re in the mood for Ffiona’s has something to offer. The staff, (including Ffiona herself) are all really friendly and will come and sit and have a chat with you (when its not too busy of course). It is the perfect destination for a friendly Sunday Morning Brunch date and is easily accessible from Notting Hill Gate & High Street Kensington tube stations (the number 27 & 28 buses stop right outside too)

The food looks fantastic (and what a great menu)! I totally agree with that people tend to forget where they live and what the city they live in has to offer. It’s because we just see it all the time!

Absolutely agree that people forget how beautiful and exciting London is! I was born there and spent some of my childhood there, and now whenever I visit I feel so ALIVE! So I’m planning on moving back there ASAP (ergo, when I’ve saved up enough!). I’ll definitely make a stop at Ffiona’s next time I’m in London, and this post has just made me incredibly hungry, hehe x
